Football Game Preview: El Camino Real Royals vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The El Camino Real Royals will square off against the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. El Camino Real will be strutting in after a victory while Cleveland will be coming in after a loss.

El Camino Real barely beat Granada Hills Charter the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Royals were the clear victors by a 28-8 margin over the Highlanders on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Royals have posted against the Highlanders since October 27, 2017.

El Camino Real got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was AJ Gupta out in front who picked up 149 receiving yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Cleveland was beaten by Birmingham 49-21 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost eight in a row.

El Camino Real will have to keep a close watch on Joseph Hurtado and Julio Avalos, a pair of players who had a big impact on Cleveland's prior game. Hurtado rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown, while Avalos rushed for 72 yards and one score.

El Camino Real's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Cleveland, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

El Camino Real and Cleveland were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but El Camino Real came up empty-handed after a 21-20 defeat.
