Football Recap: Berry Wildcats vs. Pickens Academy Pirates
Berry took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Pickens Academy Pirates 58-25 at home. With the Wildcats ahead 44-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Ayden Lake Norris had a dynamite game for Berry, rushing for 184 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 carries. Another player making a difference was Kemari Hollingsworth, who gained 183 total yards and two touchdowns.
Berry's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jayden Smith.
This is the second loss in a row for Pickens Academy and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Berry will welcome Marion County on Friday. As for Pickens Academy, they will square off against Linden on Friday.
