Basketball Recap: Galt Comes Up Short

Galt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the El Dorado Cougars and fell 79-31. The Warriors were probably out for revenge after losing 79-37 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Galt had strong showings from Anthony Rose-Garcia, who posted 13 points, and Jayden Gaither, who scored 12 points.

Logan Baker was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 15 en route to 22 points in addition to seven boards and three steals for El Dorado. Another player making a difference was Drew Bird, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points.

Galt's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for El Dorado, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-10.

Galt wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-53 loss against Amador on the 15th. As for El Dorado, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-51 defeat against Bradshaw Christian on the 17th.
