Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Jefferson extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 18 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-2. They were outmatched by the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners and fell 72-17. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Saints of the 83-44 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Jefferson still got an impressive performance from David Jackson, who posted 14 points.

As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points over those games.

Jack Brandt had a dynamite game, shooting 52% from the field to rack up 25 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Chavez, who went 5-for-8 en route to 11 points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will take on Clear Creek at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they will face off against Stargate School at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The game will give the Miners their first taste of in-conference action this season.
