Basketball Recap: Denver South Extends Winning Streak to Four

Denver South extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Ka'niya Anderson. The Ravens walked away with a 67-54 victory over the Pueblo County Hornets on Saturday with plenty of help from Anderson, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards. Her afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ali'Yanah Covington, who posted no points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Pueblo County lost, don't look at Cloie Cortez. Despite the final result, she shot 58% from the field en route to 16 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Carlee Langston, who put up nine points and five rebounds.

Denver South's record now sits at 4-0. As for Pueblo County, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Denver South is taking a road trip to square off against Skyview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pueblo County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mesa Ridge at 5:30 p.m.
