Football Game Preview: Ezell-Harding Christian Eagles vs. Zion Christian Academy Eagles

Ezell-Harding Christian has gone a perfect 3-0 against Zion Christian Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Ezell-Harding Christian strolled past Clarksville Academy with points to spare, taking the game 35-21.

Terris Smith produced another solid performance rushing for 202 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Ezell-Harding Christian is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Christopher Barnes was another key rusher, rushing for 58 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ezell-Harding Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. They are 3-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Zion Christian Academy). They took their game last Friday with ease, bagging a 43-0 victory over Pickett County. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Zion Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Ezell-Harding Christian against Zion Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in September of 2016, as the squad secured a 63-0 victory. Will Ezell-Harding Christian repeat their success, or does Zion Christian Academy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
