Softball Recap: Bethel's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bethel entered their tilt with Morris on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Wildcats have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Lakin Davis, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Morris off the board. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Davis.

On the hitting side, Kinley Bowles was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ava Gascon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Bethel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morris only posted an OBP of .190.

Bethel's record is now 11-5. As for Morris, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethel will face off against Tecumseh at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morris, they will venture away from home to square off against Lexington at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
