Baseball Recap: Ambridge Takes a Loss

Ambridge suffered their closest defeat since March 23rd on Friday. They fell just short of the New Brighton Lions by a score of 9-7. The Bridgers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

This is the second loss in a row for Ambridge and nudges their season record down to 8-11. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for New Brighton, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11.

Ambridge and New Brighton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Bridgers (ranked 236th) will meet Beaver (ranked 115th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, New Brighton will square off against Blackhawk at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (416 vs. 200).
