Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Russell Christian Academy walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand Tuscaloosa Christian a 42-0 shutout on Friday. Russell Christian Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by 23 points or more this season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Russell Christian Academy's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

The victory (which was Russell Christian Academy's seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.6 points over those games. As for Tuscaloosa Christian, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Russell Christian Academy will square off against Jacksonville Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunder will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. Tuscaloosa Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
