Basketball Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Takes a Loss

Elmwood-Murdock came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by the Lincoln Christian Crusaders and fell 67-31. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 63-36 to the Crusaders when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brooklyn Mans was Elmwood-Murdock's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Ayzlee Haertel held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. Brooke Goudie took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Leading Lincoln Christian to victory were Lexi Pittenger and Jessa Hueser. Pittenger dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards, while Hueser posted nine points along with six assists and six steals. Those six steals gave Hueser a new career-high. Maci Pittenger was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Elmwood-Murdock's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lincoln Christian, their record now sits at 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Elmwood-Murdock will head out to challenge Louisville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Seward at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
