Softball Recap: Hastings Drops Season-High Score on Mccook

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hastings). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the McCook Bison a 14-0 shutout on Saturday. Considering the Tigers have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Hastings got a massive performance out of EMILY KRATZER, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave KRATZER a new career-high. Another player making a difference was ELLA TINSMAN, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Hastings lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McCook didn't launched any home runs.

The win made it two in a row for Hastings and bumps their season record up to 14-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for McCook, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Hastings has already played their next game, a 1-0 defeat against Skutt Catholic on the 20th. As for McCook, they will host North Platte on Tuesday. The Bison's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
