Baseball Recap: Bartlett Find Success

Bartlett's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They skirted past the Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers 5-4. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 10-5 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Sean O'Reilley looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bartlett's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Josh Colaizzi, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Bartlett is 2-1 when Colaizzi posts two or more runs, but 0-2-1 otherwise. Austin Daubenmire also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Bartlett's victory bumped their record up to 2-3-1. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, their record is now 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bartlett will venture away from home to face off against Morton at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Morton will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Bartlett surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, they will face off against Belleville West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
