The Bishop Gorman Crusaders will head out on the road to challenge the Covenant Christian Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bishop Gorman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
Bishop Gorman will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Dallas Christian, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Bishop Gorman came out on top against Dallas Christian by a score of 64-57 on Tuesday. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th, while the Chargers are ranked 773rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop Gorman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carlin Ifeadi, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 18 points and five rebounds. Ifeadi is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Beau Bender was another key player, putting up 15 points and five steals.
Bishop Gorman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Covenant Christian entered their tilt with Pantego Christian last Friday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They strolled past the Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 51-37.
Bishop Gorman better keep an eye on Aaron Turner. He was instrumental in Covenant Christian's win, going 8-for-20 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Turner has become a key player for Covenant Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three steals, but 6-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Wallace, who posted ten points.
Covenant Christian now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Bishop Gorman, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bishop Gorman has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Covenant Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Bishop Gorman might still be hurting after the 61-35 defeat they got from Covenant Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2016. Can Bishop Gorman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
