Softball Recap: Salina Comes Up Short

Salina extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They came up short against the Dewey Bulldoggers, falling 23-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldoggers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Monday.

As for Dewey, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The result was nothing new for Dewey, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Dewey's part, the team relied heavily on Londyn Bond, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Bond has posted since back in September of 2024. Caydence Bishop also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Salina didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 loss against Sequoyah on the 11th. As for Dewey, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory against Adair on the 10th.
