Volleyball Recap: Charleston Takes a Loss

Charleston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Oblong Panthers. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2016.

Mickaylee Patton paced Charleston's offense, picking up four kills. Patton got some help from Charlie Milton and her seven assists.

Charleston's defeat dropped their record down to 5-24. As for Oblong, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season.

Charleston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Carterville on the 18th. As for Oblong, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Richland County on the 18th.
