Softball Recap: Valley Vista Monsoon vs. Tolleson Wolverines
Valley Vista extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 5-15. They came up short against the Tolleson Wolverines, falling 16-1. If the Monsoon were looking for revenge after losing 19-4 to the Wolverines when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Valley Vista saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Mora, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.
As for Tolleson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-8. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly 15 runs.
On Tolleson's side, Alisson Zamora was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Zamora a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marina Lara, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Coming up, Valley Vista will take on Westwood at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Tolleson will be paying especially close attention to the Monsoon's matchup: after the Monsoon face off against the Warriors, they'll take on Tolleson again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
