Lufkin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Westbury with a sharp 35-10 win. Lufkin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Demerea Rodriguez, Chance Horace, and Sam Smith picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Westbury's side was Desmen Hood, who picked up a sack and made six total tackles (2.0 for loss).
La Porte typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Weiss proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 42-35 victory over the Bulldogs. Things were looking grim for the Wolves in the second quarter (they were down by 21) but they stormed back to get the matchup.
