Basketball Recap: Martin County's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Martin County entered their game against Tarboro on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Martin County Gators fell just short of the Tarboro Vikings by a score of 62-59. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-60 back in January.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kel'Javious Moore, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Kwahli Basnight, who posted eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Martin County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in five consecutive matches.
