Softball Recap: Upper Sandusky Beats Buckeye Central for Their Tenth Straight Victory

Upper Sandusky waltzed into their contest on Monday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They blew past the Buckeye Central Bucks 12-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-7 on Friday.

Ella Frombaugh spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Madison Wengerd and Ava Saull did most of the damage at the plate: Wengerd went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Saull got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Saull has posted since back in April of 2024. Madison Hart was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Upper Sandusky pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Buckeye Central, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.

Coming up, Upper Sandusky will take on Clear Fork at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Colts have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Buckeye Central, they will challenge Northmor at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bucks are facing the Golden Knights at the right time seeing as the Golden Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
