Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Laguna Creek Cardinals

For the second straight game, Franklin will face off against Laguna Creek. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Franklin Wildcats duke it out with Laguna Creek Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklin's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Laguna Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Franklin took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let Laguna Creek get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.

The result came thanks to Dylan Wood's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Dylan Minnatee was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Franklin pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.8 runs this season. As for Laguna Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
