Softball Recap: Heritage Christian Has No Trouble Against Herron

Heritage Christian came out on top against Herron on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run third inning. The Eagles put the hurt on the Achaeans with a sharp 14-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Achaeans: they've now won seven in a row.

Hannah Tesnar made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. Tesnar was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Heritage Christian got a massive performance out of Anna Hilbrich, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Hilbrich has posted since back in May of 2024. Audrey Kopka was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Heritage Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Heritage Christian's record now sits at 2-3. As for Herron, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.

Heritage Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 15-0 loss against Covenant Christian on the 15th. As for Herron, they have also already played their next game, a 17-3 win against Pike on the 16th.
