Basketball Recap: Jasper Takes a Loss

Jasper lost against Lumberton back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Jasper Bulldogs took a 61-42 bruising from the Lumberton Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1285th, while the Raiders are ranked 564th).

Jasper dropped their record down to 4-10 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lumberton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Jasper will take on Reeves in a tournament on Thursday. Lumberton and Navasota will round out the year against one another at at 10:20 a.m. on Friday. Navasota will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Lumberton surely won't give up without a fight.
