Softball Recap: Franklin Road Academy Takes a Loss

Franklin Road Academy entered their contest against Columbia Academy on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Panthers fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 23, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Millie Pardue spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

Franklin Road Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Columbia Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Franklin Road Academy Panthers duke it out with Grace Christian Academy Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin Road Academy is facing Grace Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Grace Christian Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Columbia Academy, they will challenge The Webb School at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Feet have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.5 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
