Softball Recap: Red Bank Catholic Comes Up Short

Red Bank Catholic made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Donovan Catholic, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Caseys fell just short of the Griffins by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Caseys in their meetings with the Griffins: they've now lost five in a row.

Mackenna Savage spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lily Hagan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Red Bank Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Donovan Catholic, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 15-0.
