Van Vleck's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hempstead Bobcats, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Leopards have posted since September 9th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Van Vleck got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 22-25, 25-9, 24-26, 15-9.

Mary Landers paced Van Vleck's offense, picking up 11 kills. Landers got some help from Amy Landers and her 28 assists. Amy was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Van Vleck's victory bumped their record up to 19-17. As for Hempstead, they dropped their record down to 6-18 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Van Vleck is set to take on their familiar foe Boling at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hempstead will challenge rival East Bernard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
