League recap: Hawthorne stuns Bronson in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Hawthorne, who took down 444th ranked Bronson, 42-37.

Trenton added to the longest winning streak in 1A District 6 this week by beating Marianna, 49-27. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Tigers.

Austin Ritchey was a passing and rushing force as Bell topped Hilliard. Ritchey's favorite target this week was Bruce Thomas, who caught 5 passes for 78 yards.

Stephen Smith threw for 87 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Ritchey was a beast in the backfield as the Bulldogs defeated the Red Flashes.

Smith put up the best numbers through the air as Trenton topped the Bulldogs. Smith's favorite target this week was Hamp Cheevers, who caught 2 passes for 57 yards.

6-foot-2 quarterback Bryce Jenkins of Hilliard is the league leader in passing yards this season with 749. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Thomas. The Bell star has 11 catches for 298 yards.

The Eagles are currently in fourth, while Andrew Thomas' team is in first.

There should be lots of points scored when Bronson and the Tigers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Cameron Porch's team comes in having scored 290 this season, while Trenton has scored 292. The Eagles scored 37 points last week as they lost to the Hornets.

Doug Allison's team lost to Bell 52-28 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brian Clark was a bright spot for the Red Flashes, as he ran for 177 yards and caught 3 passes for 38 yards in the loss.
