Basketball Recap: Central Falls Short of Freire Charter in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Central can now relate to. They took a 66-49 bruising from the Freire Charter Dragon on Saturday. The Lancers have struggled against the Dragon recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Senya Gaines-Ditto, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 13 points. Those 13 points gave Gaines-Ditto a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Meer, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Freire Charter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9.

As of now, neither Central nor Freire Charter have any future games scheduled.
