Football Recap: Claremore Victorious

Claremore's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 23-20 win over the Barnsdall Panthers. Given the Zebras' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Panthers are ranked 213th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Claremore's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Barnsdall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Claremore will square off against Will Rogers College at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Zebras will be up against the Ropers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 46.22 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Barnsdall, they will head out on the road to square off against Porter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
