Softball Recap: Chesterton Takes a Loss

The Chesterton Trojans didn't have quite enough to beat the South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies on Saturday and fell 3-1.

Chesterton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaydence Ford, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Ford has snagged this season.

Chesterton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chesterton will host Portage at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mishawaka at 5:00 p.m.
