Baseball Game Preview: Brighton Bengals vs. East Leopards

For the second straight game, Brighton will face off against East. Brighton will square off against East at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Brighton has four straight victories, East has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, Brighton made easy work of East and carried off a 12-3 win. The Bengals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Miles Layton looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Riley Brown, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Saba, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Brighton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East only posted a batting average of .174.

Brighton pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for East, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
