Football Game Preview: Northwest Halifax Vikings vs. Union Spartans + How To Watch

The Northwest Halifax Vikings will be playing at home against the Union Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, Northwest Halifax was beaten by Warren County 49-12. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Defeat or not, Northwest Halifax got some senior leadership from Marsay Edwards and Daveion Richardson. Edwards rushed for 103 yards and one TD on only eight carries, while Richardson picked up 106 receiving yards and one score. Richardson's longest reception was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Meanwhile, Union had to suffer through a 36-6 loss at the hands of West Columbus.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Northwest Halifax has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 250 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Union struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 190 rushing yards.
