Recap: Griffin Bears vs. Lovejoy Wildcats
The Griffin Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Lovejoy 59-29 on the road. Given Griffin's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Lovejoy is ranked 376th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Griffin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Naima Foster, who scored six points along with 17 rebounds and five blocks. Those 17 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was A'ziyah Maddox, who scored ten points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Griffin and bumps their season record up to 9-6. As for Lovejoy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Griffin is on the road again on Saturday and play against McEachern at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th. As for Lovejoy, they will be playing at home against Morrow at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
