Baseball Game Preview: Orting Cardinals vs. Sequim Wolves

The Orting Cardinals will square off against the Sequim Wolves at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Sequim took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Orting, who comes in off a win.

Orting's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Foss 12-0. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Tanner Hebel made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hebel was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Graysen Pedersen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Laithan Lawson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Orting kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Sequim couldn't beat Olympic on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Wolves lost 14-6 to the Trojans. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 15, 2025, but that streak is no more.

Orting's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Sequim, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-4.

Everything went Orting's way against Sequim in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Orting made off with a 13-7 win. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
