Softball Game Preview: Sprayberry Yellow Jackets vs. Etowah Eagles

The Sprayberry Yellow Jackets will take on the Etowah Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Sprayberry couldn't beat Woodstock on Tuesday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the third inning. The Yellow Jackets lost 17-9 to the Wolverines. The Yellow Jackets haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Sprayberry saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graci Pederson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another was Sarah Long, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Etowah came up short against Cherokee on Tuesday, falling 9-1.

Sprayberry's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Etowah, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Sprayberry took their victory against Etowah in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 18-3 score. Do the Yellow Jackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
