Volleyball Recap: Cumberland Valley Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Cumberland Valley faced Exeter Township in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Cumberland Valley blew past Exeter Township 3-0. Cumberland Valley's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Cumberland Valley didn't let Exeter Township take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 29-27, 29-27.

Leading Cumberland Valley to victory were Hayden Ackley and Isaiah Sibbitt. Ackley had 27 digs and two assists, while Sibbitt had three aces and one block. Sibbitt has been hot for a while, having also posted 24 or more assists the last 26 times he's played. Avery Reynolds also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Cumberland Valley pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Exeter Township, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2.

Coming up, Cumberland Valley will welcome Central Dauphin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Exeter Township, they will head out on the road to face off against Governor Mifflin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
