Baseball Preview: Cerritos Dons vs. Portola Bulldogs
The Cerritos Dons will be taking part in a tournament against the Portola Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cerritos' hittershaven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Monday just wasn't the day for Cerritos' offense. They fell 4-0 to Northwood on Monday.
Cerritos got a good showing from Gurshan Mangat, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Cerritos saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dalton Chi, who went 1-for-4 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Chi's hit this season.
Meanwhile, Portola had just enough and edged out Diamond Bar 6-4 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.
M Liang looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Keyan Park was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024. Cooper Marinelli was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.
The victory got Portola back to even at 2-2. As for Cerritos, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
