Baseball Recap: Teton Victorious

Teton hadn't done well against South Fremont recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Timberwolves had just enough and edged out the Cougars 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Timberwolves: when they faced off against the Cougars last Tuesday, they had to take a 8-4 loss.

Luke Nelson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. He has become a key player for Teton: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least ten strikeouts, but 6-7 otherwise. Nelson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Nelson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Slade Kunz, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Will Wright also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Teton now has a winning record of 9-8. As for South Fremont, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-6.

Looking ahead, Teton will square off against American Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Fremont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
