It was a good run, but Great Bend unfortunately witnessed the end of their 18-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell 2-0 to the Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves. The shutout was out of character for the Panthers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Great Bend was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 11 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-11.

Mikala Minton paced Great Bend's offense, picking up five kills. Minton got some help from Kya Behr and her ten assists.

Among those leading the charge was Melia Peters, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Great Bend's loss dropped their record down to 27-10. As for Blue Valley Southwest, they pushed their record up to 34-4 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road.

Great Bend wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Maize South on the 30th. As for Blue Valley Southwest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Kapaun Mt. Carmel on the 30th.
