Basketball Recap: West Caldwell Comes Up Short

West Caldwell lost against East Burke back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Caldwell Warriors were beaten by the East Burke Cavaliers 91-11. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 27th).

Braelyn Stilwell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for East Burke, dropping a double-double with 25 points and 12 steals. That's the most steals Stilwell has posted since back in February of 2024. Addi Brittain was another key player, going 6-for-8 en route to 16 points.

West Caldwell's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17. As for East Burke, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-1.

As of now, neither West Caldwell nor East Burke have any future games scheduled.
