Football Game Preview: Franklin Knights vs. Lakeview Sailors

Franklin is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Lakeview a five-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Franklin Knights will host the Lakeview Sailors at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Franklin's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Oil City on Friday. They took a blow against the Oilers, falling 47-0. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 540th, while the Oilers are ranked 178th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to 46 points the game before, Lakeview was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They had to suffer through a 56-6 loss at the hands of Cambridge Springs. Lakeview's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Franklin was dealt a bruising 44-12 defeat at the hands of Lakeview when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Knights, Leyton Zacherl (who threw for 288 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 76 yards and one score on only six carries) won't be suiting up this time.
