Basketball Recap: Simon Kenton Takes a Loss

Simon Kenton was the 54-46 winner over Conner when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Simon Kenton Pioneers lost to the Conner Cougars at home by a 65-49 margin on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pioneers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Cougars are ranked 118th).

Simon Kenton's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Conner, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-15.

Looking ahead, Simon Kenton will be playing at home against Holy Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Conner, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cougars face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
