Basketball Game Preview: Foothill Cougars vs. Shasta Wolves

The Foothill Cougars will challenge the Shasta Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Shasta is hoping to do what Chico couldn't on Thursday: put an end to Foothill's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Foothill enjoyed a cozy 62-48 victory over Chico.

Foothill got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zane Miceli out in front who went 7 for 15 on his way to 16 points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Miceli a new career-high in blocks. Matt Poulsen was another key player, going 7 of 11 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Shasta made easy work of West Valley on Friday and carried off a 62-40 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-16.

Shasta now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Foothill, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Foothill beat Shasta 55-47 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Does Foothill have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shasta turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
