Volleyball Recap: Dennis-Yarmouth Regional Victorious

Dennis-Yarmouth Regional was handed a three-set defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Frontier Regional Red Hawks, sneaking past 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dolphins also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Dennis-Yarmouth Regional had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 8-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-12.

Katie Popovich paced Dennis-Yarmouth Regional's offense, picking up 11 kills. Popovich got some help from Rafaela Prebianchi and her 26 assists. Sophia Cantwell controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, Frontier Regional saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaelyn Johnston had 20 digs and two aces. Those 20 digs set a new season-high mark for Johnston.

Dennis-Yarmouth Regional is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Frontier Regional, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Dennis-Yarmouth Regional wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Sandwich on the 16th. As for Frontier Regional, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Baystate Academy on the 14th.
