Football Game Preview: Coyle Bluejackets vs. Davenport Bulldogs + How To Watch

The Coyle Bluejackets will head out on the road to challenge the Davenport Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Davenport took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Coyle, who comes in off a win.

Coyle took a 46-point loss the last time they faced off against Cherokee, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Bluejackets made off with a 6-5 win over the Chiefs. Those six points were actually the fewest the Bluejackets have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, Davenport entered their game against Covington-Douglas on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bulldogs had to suffer through a 52-24 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-8.

Davenport now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Coyle, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Coyle couldn't quite get it done against Davenport when the teams last played back in November of 2024 as they fell 31-22. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Bulldogs' Chase Mitchell, who rushed for 59 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 124 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes. Now that the Bluejackets know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
