Football Game Preview: DeWitt Panthers vs. De La Salle Collegiate Pilots + How To Watch

The DeWitt Panthers will face off against the De La Salle Collegiate Pilots at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. DeWitt is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

DeWitt is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Fenton 70-26. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won nine matchups by 44 points or more so far this season.

DeWitt can attribute much of their success to Traverse Moore, who rushed for 186 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries, and Channing Ridley, who gained 185 total yards and three touchdowns. Ridley's longest rush was for an impressive 67 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jadon Bender got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: DeWitt was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 523 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 23 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ridley, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, De La Salle Collegiate strolled past King with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 38-20. The victory continues a trend for the Pilots in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won three in a row.

The win got De La Salle Collegiate back to even at 6-6. As for DeWitt, their record is now 12-0.

Everything came up roses for DeWitt against De La Salle Collegiate in their previous matchup back in October of 2020, as the squad secured a 43-3 victory. In that game, the Panthers amassed a halftime lead of 30-3, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
