Softball Recap: Volcano Vista Hawks vs. Cibola Cougars
Volcano Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cibola Cougars. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Volcano Vista saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Neveah Padilla, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Volcano Vista's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Cibola, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 17-4 record this season.

The Hawks will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Cibola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cleveland at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Storm will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
