Basketball Game Preview: Calvary Chapel Christian Academy Archangels vs. Winston Eagles

The Calvary Chapel Christian Academy Archangels will head out on the road to challenge the Winston Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Calvary Chapel Christian Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lifegate Christian, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Archangels blew past the Falcons 65-37 on Tuesday. The Archangels' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Calvary Chapel Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jared Storms, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 points gave Storms a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Galloway, who posted 13 points along with five boards and four steals.

Calvary Chapel Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Winston took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They breezed past Salem Sayers Baptist Academy to the tune of 72-37. The Eagles haven't had any issues with Salem Sayers Baptist Academy recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Calvary Chapel Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Winston, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
