Baseball Game Preview: Oroville Tigers vs. Central Valley Falcons

Oroville is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Central Valley a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Oroville Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Central Valley Falcons at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Oroville's offense. They lost 9-0 to West Valley on Tuesday.

Oroville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Zarate, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Zarate is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Meanwhile, Central Valley came up short against Etna on Tuesday, falling 9-3.

Oroville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Central Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Oroville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Central Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
