Recap: Morehead Panthers vs. North Forsyth Vikings
The Morehead Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 26 points or more this season. They took their contest on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 75-43 victory over North Forsyth. That 75-43 margin sets a new team best for Morehead this season.
It was another big night for Makel Smith, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Chandler, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Morehead is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for North Forsyth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morehead will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Atlantic Collegiate Academy at 2:00 p.m. on December 16th. Atlantic Collegiate Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Morehead in their respective states (Atlantic Collegiate Academy is ranked 14th in South Carolina, while Morehead is ranked 132nd in North Carolina).
