Basketball Game Preview: Highline Pirates vs. Lindbergh Eagles

The Highline Pirates will face off against the Lindbergh Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Highline is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Tyee 74-17 on Saturday. With the Pirates ahead 57-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Highline to victory, but perhaps none more so than Corey Crosby, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Crosby has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 17 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayne Cola, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards.

Highline smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 39 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Lindbergh had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wolverines 86-54.

Lindbergh's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Highline, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Highline came up short against Lindbergh in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 67-58. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lindbergh's James Huff, who dropped a double-double on 41 points and 11 rebounds. Now that Highline knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
